MANGALAGIRI: Stating that students are future asset of the state, IT and PR minister Nara Lokesh has assured of realizing their dreams by attracting big-ticket investments into the state. He said that several top IT firms have already set their foot in the state and many others are just waiting in the wings. He said that Mangalagiri itself is going to become IT hub of the state in next few years. Lokesh interacted with young entrepreneurs and students of engineering colleges here on Thursday.

He said that 40 IT firms have already opened their outlets in Mangalagiri creating about 3500 new jobs. “You should not confine your agendas just to secure a job after completing the degree. You should all become entrepreneurs and create new jobs,” Lokesh advised students. He assured of extending all support to the new entrepreneurs particularly the youth who wish to launch start-up firms. Responding to a query as to why top IT firms were lining up to open branches in AP, Lokesh explained that skillful youth, proactive corruption free government and ease of doing business policies are the main reasons to attract firms.

He said that no one would have expected that Andhra Pradesh would achieve so much of development about five years ago when the state was irrationally divided without giving any major investment zone to AP. He said that similar apprehensions were raised when Singapore was separated from Malaysia. He, however, said that AP had also achieved tremendous development on the lines of Singapore just because of the presence of a strong and experienced leader at the helm.

Lokesh said that they were developing all the regions in the state without concentrating on one district or capital city area. He said that Chittoor district was turned into electronics hub while Anantapuram was made as a manufacturing zone. Kurnool and Kadapa will be turned into horticulture hubs by completing the pending irrigation projects. Kurnool had also got biggest Solar park in the country.

Lokesh said that they were using advanced technology to improve water quality and quality of road construction.

Lokesh visited several villages as part of the campaign and met locals. He sought the support of electors to make Mangalagiri a model assembly constituency.
