Rescue a Baby in a Hot Car and Loon Ventures LLC Will Pay for the Window

WOBURN, Mass., March 21, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Last year was the deadliest year for babies in hot cars. More than 50 babies died in the United States in this manner.
The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) advises "If you are a bystander and see a child in a hot vehicle:
- Make sure the child is okay and responsive. If not, call 911 immediately.
- If the child appears to be okay, attempt to locate the parents or have the facility's security or management page the car owner over the PA system.
- If there is someone with you, one person should actively search for the parent while the other waits at the car.
- If the child is not responsive or appears to be in distress, attempt to get into the car to assist the child—even if that means breaking a window."
The American Association of Pediatrics recommends that the rescuer then "Spray the child with cool water (not an ice bath)."
If a rescuer follows this Consumer Advisory of the NHTSA and a judge should tell them that that they need to pay the vehicle owner for damages, Loon Ventures LLC will pay the court up to $1000 to repair a broken window. This offer is available now through 2020 and other costs do not apply.
Rescuers are requested to make a reasonable effort to find the driver and/or wait for first responders if time allows.
