HYDERABAD: A 10-month-old baby girl died in Hakimpet Kunta in Banjara Hills on Wednesday when a wall of an under-construction building collapsed on her.

The incident occurred at 7.30am. “The underconstruction wall is right next to the bedroom of baby Mahim Qureshi’s home. When it collapsed, the baby was sleeping on the bed and was crushed underneath the concrete,” Banjara Hills inspector N Kalinga Rao said. Parents of the baby were not in the room, said police. The baby was shifted to a nearby private hospital where she was declared brought dead. Her body was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy.

Builder Raju was booked under IPC section 304-A (causing death by negligence). However, no arrest has been made yet.
