It's Mystery Picture time.

It's Mystery Picture time.

Baby-boomers and older, too,

Take a look and tell us who.

For some reason, I'm ultra-curious about this old picture.

Our Indiana Jones, Herald News photo archivist Furze, found this picture or negative in an envelope or box labeled November, 1964. Yes, back in the days when fathers and sons dressed up for various banquets in and around Fall River. Seems like two-thirds of these events took place at the old Quequechan Club, but I can't say for sure on this one.

Our guess is that the big, smiling guy in the middle is a sports celebrity, the guest of honor/speaker at a local event. But we want to know more. We want to know everything. The ID of one, or two, or of everyone in the picture.  What's the event? Who. What. When. Where. Toss in a why if you want.

Share you facts (or even reasonable guesses) via email, Twitter (GregSullivanHN), Facebook (my page or HNNow). Still online, comment under the story. Offline, talk to us by phone call or by old-school mail.

• One of my lingering memories from the recently completed boys' basketball season. In the Division 4 South semifinal at Taunton High School, Bishop Connolly early third quarter trailed eventual state finalist Abington by 15 points and was unable to generate a decent offense. Senior captain and point guard Zach Mullins then scored the game's six points in a span of 1:24 and it was a contest again. The interesting thing is Mullins was not only scoreless to that point, I'm not sure he had even taken a shot. He's all about passing and defense. But the Cougars sorely needed a jump start and Mullins was Mr. AAA. (Watch for his Q&A soon in this newspaper.)

• After six or seven years, genius boy me has figured out how to properly and quickly fold nylon cool-weather jacket into its built-in pouch.

• Here are those lines from Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" that, admit it, none of us know and just kind of fake when singing along. "And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night.
And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger."

• Back to basketball. Dover-Sherborn defeated Bishop Stang in the state final. Guess who's the assistant varsity coach for D-S. That's right, former Bishop Feehan head coach, the 6-foot-6 (my estimate) Matt Freeman. Asked via email if D-S was running Feehan's old offense, Freeman replied, "nope the only things I provided was good looks and comedic relief."

That's important, too.

• Maybe Liam McDonald's win at the Sullivan 3-point Shootout, on Bishop Connolly High's Shea Court, was not an upset. The kid has history on this court. Connolly coach Bill Shea, who runs his Old School Hoop Academy camps on the court named for him and his late father, said McDonald is the only camper to ever defeat him in Shea's rather complex version of the around-the-world shooting contest. McDonald did it as a seventh grader.

• Togo Palazzi. (It's been a while.)
