Calls to turn off a church's clock chimes at night are 'ridiculous' and they should be kept 'just as they are' according to some readers.
They were giving their reaction after the Reverend David Parry wrote to Conwy Town Council saying the chimes from the 19th Century clock at St Mary's church may also be disturbing other residents as well as himself, businesses and tourists, and is concerned the latter could even be "driven away" by the noise.
The town council - which maintains the clock - in response has hand-delivered a questionnaire to 400 residents and businesses asking for their views about the clock chiming every 15 minutes throughout the night.
And North Wales Live visited the Medieval town to ask residents and visitors first-hand what they thought about the issue.

Derick Cuthbert, who lives just outside of the castle walls, said: "I've heard church bells all over the UK such as when I was on holiday in Malmesbury, in Wiltshire.
"I love church bells and church clock chimes at all times of the day, we should keep them just the way they are as they are part of the town."

"I live just yards away and I just don't hear them as I'm used to them.
"When I had the questionnaire I just laughed as I think it's so ridiculous, people find too much to complain about these days."

Mrs Collins said: "Church clock chimes or church bells don't bother me at all, we live near a railway and we don't even hear the trains any more as you just get used to it."

Steve Brett, who was on holiday with his wife Valerie, from Sandbach in Cheshire, said: "Keep the chimes on! We are in Conwy as we love it here, we love the character of the town and the clock chimes are a big part of that."
