Two held on charges of vehicle theft, snatching in Ambala

AMBALA: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-1 team of the Ambala police has solved fives cases of vehicle theft and snatching with the arrests of two persons. The accused have been identified as Virender Pal Singh alias Himanshu of Housing Board Colony, Ambala City, and Gurjeet Singh alias Bunty of Durga Nagar, Ambala.
According to cops, with the arrests of two accused they have managed to solve three cases of snatching and two of vehicles thefts committed in different areas of Ambala. As per information, both accused were arrested by the CIA-1 on Monday and after completion of their interrogation, they were presented before a local court on Wednesday that has now sent them to judicial custody.
On March 10, Poonam Mishra of Baldev Nagar had filed a police complaint stating that two motorcycle-borne youths had snatched her purse containing Rs 13,000 in cash and important documents from near Vita Milk Plant.
A similar complaint was file by Kavita Arora of Jaggi Colony in Ambala City stating that on March 13, two motorcycle-borne youths had snatched her purse containing Rs 3,000 in cash and a mobile phone.
On March 14, Kanta Rani of Kalal Majri in Ambala City stated that two youths had snatched her friend's purse containing Rs 50,000 in cash from near TB Hospital.
Besides the three incidents of snatching, the accused are also said to be involved in vehicle thefts.
CIA-1 in-charge inspector Sandeep Kumar said, "Both the accused were on spree of committing crimes like vehicle thefts and snatching for fulfilling their need of drugs. As per primary investigation, it has come forward that both accused committed the offences under the influence of heroin. So far, we have managed to solve five cases with their arrests and further investigation and verification related to other cases is being done."
