Taking exception to the JD(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda’s statement that there was a need to prevent the BJP from touching double figures in the Lok Sabha polls, BJP leader K.S.. Eshwarappa on Wednesday challenged the ruling JD(S)-Congress coalition to touch the double-figure mark.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Mr. Eshwarappa ridiculed the coalition partners for trying to work against each other though they had forged a poll alliance. He also taunted Mr. Gowda: “Let the JD(S) retain the two seats it currently holds.”
