Cisfa students showcase creativity at art exhibition

Nagpur: Students of Mundle Education Society’s Central India School of Fine Arts (Cisfa) displayed their creativity in painting and drawing sketches at the three-day annual exhibition that concluded at its Wardha Road college on Wednesday.
The college premises looked artistically pleasant with each nook and cranny filled with students’ works.
“Art is about painting your vision of society and how well you can relate to the pertaining issues. This is a medium for them to express, through sculptures, paintings or products,” said the painting department head Babar Shareef.
The first year students displayed several paintings, sketches and an art installation. “Since it is the first step of this four year course, we are taught everything. It helps us in visualizing what the next three years would be like and how to shape it,” said Gauri Buit, a student.
There were miniature, gradation and cut-paste paintings which showcased the creativity of freshers.
Moving ahead were product and campaign designs displayed by students of second and third year students. A particularly eye catching charcoal painting done on an old newspaper by Sukanya Wanner was displayed, and addressed the creativity and finesse honed by them.
A unique branding campaign made by Naqiya Ali titled ‘Love is love’ showed the bond between humans, irrespective of gender and creed.
A student of fourth year Abhilash Neel campaigned for an adhesive brand with corny yet point hitting puns with his rather graphic visualization of the theme ‘Bond’. Art installations by alumni and postgraduate students showcased tender emotions with bold brush strokes.
“People used to look at art as a luxury and not as a means of making money. They are still unaware of the tremendous scope this field has to offer. The scenario is gradually shifting and people are starting to take notice of this field as a huge market,” said Bhau Dandade, principal.
The exhibition was curated by photography department head Pankaj Dawande.
