KALYAN: A hotelier was allegedly attacked with a knife over a financial dispute by two persons, including the vice-president of Team Omie Kalani (TOK) party in Ulhasnagar. Central police have registered a case against two persons, including Roshan Makhija, who is vice-president of TOK party.
Makhija claimed he had been falsely implicated by Pawan Gupta, as at the time of the attack mentioned by the complainant in the FIR, he was partying with family members at a hotel. The victim's family blamed police for working under political pressure to save Makhija. They said police, instead of registering a case under section 307 (attempt to murder), booked the accused only under section 326 (grevious injuries) of IPC.
Police said Gupta operates a hotel near Gol Maidan, and few months earlier, he had taken a loan from Makhija and paid back part of it. Later, the duo had a dispute over the pending amount. Gupta alleged in his complaint that he was attacked by Makhija and another person with a knife. Gupta, admitted to Bhosale hospital for treatment, had to take 60 stitches on his body.
