Tirupur district has 376 vulnerable, 10 critical polling booths

TIRUPUR: As many as 376 polling booths have been declared as vulnerable in Tirupur district, which has five Lok Sabha constituencies.
Of the total 2,497 polling booths in the district, 10 have been termed as critical booths.
"We have identified the critical and vulnerable polling booths based on their history. Once general observer visits the district, the numbers may change, as they were subject to revision based on the election norms,” returning officer K S Palanisamy told reporters here on Wednesday.
“We have planned to beef up security and appoint micro observers in those booths, besides taking other special measures as directed by the Election Commission. With 220 electoral zones, zonal teams would take special care of those booths," Palanisamy said.
