A massage area, 'his and hers' dressing rooms and separate showers: Agent reveals the the 'must-have' home features his wealthy clients are demanding in 2019

  • Wealthy homeowners are asking for a whole range of luxury designs to be made
  • They are coveting separate bathrooms, sweeping staircases and large garages
  • Some are even installing internal lifts to easily move between various rooms

Multi-level staircases, 12-car garages and his-and-hers dressing rooms are just some of the demands wealthy homeowners are making when it comes to buying their dream house in 2019.

No expense is spared when it comes to infinity pools, kids' bedrooms that fit king-sized mattresses and internal lifts, Sydney buyers' agent Janne Sutcliffe told Domain.

Considering these individuals tend to travel a lot for work - and have seen the kinds of luxury awarded to premium hotel guests overseas - they know it's possible to replicate the same level of grandeur in their own homes.

'They're now much more precise about what they want and they want every box ticked,' Ms Sutcliffe told the publication.

While location is still supremely important to the average rich homeowner, they are now also preoccupied with how the size in their houses is arranged.

They want to ensure the kitchen - where food preparation occurs - is close to the family room - where guests may lounge about - to ensure everyone can enjoy each other's company at one time.

Large garages are becoming a more popular big ticket item as people realise their passion for vintage cars and need a place to store them.

His-and-hers dressing rooms, wine cellars, gyms, massage areas and cinemas are being added for ease, managing director of Melbourne's Kay & Burton Ross Savas said.

'Today it's all about creating an environment at home so you don't have to leave,' he said.

What do rich homeowners want?

*Internal lifts

*Separate bathrooms, toilets and dressing rooms

*An infinity pool or similar design

*Bespoke cabinetry

*A kitchen and family room close together

All bedrooms should be designed to have en suites and there should be enough rooms leftover for guests if they want to stay over after entertaining nights.

If that's not enough, his-and-hers studies, separate showers and toilets are looked on favourably because couples are able to coexist without getting in each other's way if they're travelling to work or need to handle important business.

One of the quirkier touches include bespoke cabinetry created by a designer, allowing the homeowners to give their place an artist flair.
