The basic shirt is back in style and how. Take cue from Sara Ali Khan and Anisha Padukone.
fashion and trends Updated: Mar 20, 2019 10:30 ISTThe regular shirt has a stylish appeal this coming summer and it has also started occupying space in celeb wardrobes. Recently, Sara Ali Khan was seen shooting in Delhi for Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2 with Karthik Aryan and we saw the Simmba actor wearing a honey coloured tanned shirt with denim, tucked in neatly. Deepika Padukone’s sister and golfer Anisha Padukone was spotted last evening wearing a pink and royal blue gingham shirt again tucked-in with high-waist denim. This look breaks away from the formal appeal of a tucked-in shirt with a formal pair of trousers and gives it a casual feel that is simple and confident. Women’s workwear is going through a lot of experiments these days and newer elements are being incorporated in it .We look forward to more casual touches and a broader colour palette to the category.
Sara who is one of the leading millennial fashion icons right now, carried this simple look in style with rolled-up sleeves and a ponytail. Anisha on the other hand, wore a brighter check tone with high-waist denim and left her hair open and styled the look with a sling bag.
How to get the look?
While over-sized shirts are big on trend right now with women, the standard-size shirt is also having a moment. You can either go for plain block colours and pair it with denim, linen or regular cotton trousers or go for gingham patterns with your choice of check size. Stripes, floral prints can also be worn considering we have the lovely spring season upon us. Be it a high-fashion diva or the girl next door, this trend is for both. The combination can be accessorised with minimal hoops for earrings, stack bracelets and sneakers. Ankle-length boots or strappy sandals can also be a good choice. Complete the look with a sling bag or an arty tote.
