Hasan Minhaj threw some millennial words at Shashi Tharoon and he couldn’t guess any of them.

Comedian Hasan Minhaj has shared an out-take from the latest episode of his hit Netflix show, Patriot Act. In the clip, Hasan tests Congress party leader Shashi Tharoor’s knowledge in the millennial vocabulary, in which he fails spectacularly.

Shashi Tharoor is famous on internet for his impressive vocabulary . “You seem to know a lot of words, I wanna test you of how deep your vocabulary is,” Hasan tells the Congress member in the video. He goes on to spell and pronounce the choicest of words from the millennial lingo, asking the politician to define them but he is left stumped.

“F-L-E-E-K,” Hasan throws his first word at him. His guess: “Sort of plugged in?” But that’s not what it means. For something to be on fleek, it means it’s perfect and stylish.

Next up was ‘Thicc’. Shashi Tharoor guesses: “If someone is ‘thick’, it usually means they don’t have much between their ears. But thick with two ‘Cs’ is new to me.” Hasan explains that to be thicc, one has to be ‘thicc in a cute kind of way’. “Damn, Shashi is thicc,” Hasan even uses it in a sentence.

The final word was ‘Snacc’, something the politician refused to accept as a word at all. Hasan uses it in a sentence again, “Damn Shashi is thicc, looking like a snacc.” Shashi confesses, “You’re completely losing me here Hasan.”

Their fans loved the video. “Hahahhaha Shashi’s guide to being woke,” wrote one. “Wud luv to watch more of these two together,” wrote another.

Hasan’s episode on the Indian General Elections got a lot of traction online. The show did get its share of brickbats from some sections while others praised Hasan, asking Netflix not to take down the episode. In the episode, Hasan spoke about the current scenario of Indian politics and shared his insight in several controversial deals and corruption scams.

This is not the first time that Minhaj has faced criticism for his comic act. In the past, Netflix dropped an episode of Minhaj’s show in Saudi Arabia after the Saudi government complained that the episode - which is critical of the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman - violated its cybercrime laws.
