He was arrested at BTM Layout

The Suddaguntepalya police have arrested a 40-year-old MBA graduate who was peddling drugs to customers by concealing them in dry fruit packets. The police recovered 20 strips of MDMA and two kilograms of marijuana worth ₹3.5 lakh from the accused, Omprakash R.V.

Acting on a tip, a team led by Inspector Mohammed M.A. went to 13th Main at BTM Layout and caught Omprakash red-handed as he was delivering drugs to clients in dry fruit packets.

“Omprakash is an MBA graduate and is named in several criminal cases. While working at an event management company, he realised that there is a huge demand for drugs. He entered the drug peddling trade a year-and-a-half ago,” said the police.

He allegedly sourced the drugs from a contact in Hoskote. He charged customers anywhere between ₹2,000 and ₹5,000 depending upon the type and quantity of drugs.

“Investigations are on to ascertain the extent of his network,” the police added.

Omprakash has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and taken into custody for further questioning.
