Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate for the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha constituency Veena George carried out her election campaign tour in the Konni Assembly segment meeting new voters on Tuesday.
The sitting MLA of Aranmula tried to convince people the importance of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls and the grave need to protect the secular, democratic character of the country.
Ms. George, accompanied by local leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and other LDF leaders, began her tour from Enadimangalam in Konni. She covered the rural reaches of Kalanjoor, Koodal, and Kollanpady.
First round done
After a meeting with LDF leaders at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) office at Konni, the MLA proceeded to the Mannam Memorial NSS College to meet the new voters there. After a brief interaction with the students, Ms. George posed for selfies with them, before leaving Konni.
She completed one round of campaign tour in the Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha segment by March first week. Ms. George toured the rural areas of Kunnida, Puthuval, Maroor, Elamannoor, Maruthimoodu, Poothamkara, Konni, Thannithode, and Seethathode later.
Students Federation of India workers accorded a reception the candidate on her at the IHRD College junction later.
