Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) has teamed up with TMW Fintech and Federal Bank to unveil a two-in-one travel card for Mumbai Metro One. The card will have a dual chip which will allow commuters to use it for Metro travel and other purchases.
The card can be used either as a store value card or a monthly trip pass. Commuters can also load cash on the card and use it as a prepaid bank card, which can be used at any outlets accepting MasterCard. Metro commuters can get a card at customer care counters at stations on minimum payment of ₹50, of which ₹30 will be credited to the customer’s TMW account upon activation of the card.
Mumbai Metro One has been promoting card-based products as more than half the 4.5 lakh daily commuters use them.
An MMOPL spokesperson said, “ We are happy to present a multi-purpose travel smart card in association with TMW.”
