Police intervene to allay their fears

Residents in Kadabagere and Attur Layout near Yelahanka began to panic after receiving threatening messages from local thugs warning them not to vote. The area gained notoriety due to the presence of two warring rowdies ‘Kadabagere’ Seena and Rama. Both gangsters have ties with political parties, said a police official.

Police intervened after villagers complained of receiving threats over the past few days.

On Tuesday, a team led by Assistant Commissioner L.C. Nagaraj and other senior police officers visited the area and held a meeting with residents to allay their fears.

“There are eight polling booths in Kadabagere and Attur Layout. As a precautionary measure, we have declared these areas as vulnerable and will deploy additional forces to monitor the law and order situation,” said Nagaraj.

The jurisdictional police have been asked to summon all rowdies and get an undertaking from them.
