AIADMK leader introduces PMK candidate

Forest Minister and AIADMK senior leader Dindigul C. Srinivasan said that the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) candidate for Dindigul Lok Sabha constituency Jothi Muthu would win by a margin of three lakh votes.

Introducing him here on Tuesday, he said the AIADMK had grown like a banyan tree with cadre support. “It is not a sapling or an insect to be crushed or neglected.”

When the constituency was allotted to the PMK two days ago, cadre were shocked. Some of them expressed their anger in the social media. Political opponents too tried to blow it out of proportion. The media had a field day by publishing stories that ‘all is not well in the ruling party.’ But people would not believe all these statements.

The AIADMK government had kept its promise and would continue to deliver goods, Mr. Srinivasan said. When the AIADMK fielded Udayakumar as its candidate for Dindigul Lok Sabha constituency in 2014, he won by a margin of 1.40 lakh votes. “With more allies in the fold now and with achievements of the State government, the PMK would win from this constituency by a margin of three lakh votes. With this goal, the party would start working round the clcok from this minute,” he said.

The AIADMK would finish on top in the Nilakottai Assembly by-election and there was no question of disappointment among any cadre, he clarified. “The high command has taken the decision only after careful study of who would win and who should be given tickets,” he noted.
