5.75 quintal of mawa seized
tnn | Mar 20, 2019, 04:30 ISTKanpur: Around 5.75 quintal of mawa, worth Rs one lakh, was seized and destroyed by food and safety administration department on Tuesday as it was not fit for human consumption.
Designated officer Vijay Pratap Singh said that the teams had also seized and destroyed 59.40 quintal Kachari worth Rs 30 lakh and 2,749 kg oil worth Rs 27.75 lakh.
He said various teams of the department also collected around 138 samples, out of which 26 samples failed in the lab test for which the vendors and manufacturer would be prosecuted under the Food Safety Act, he added.
