Filing of nominations for the Erode Lok Sabha constituency began here on Tuesday. However, no candidate filed their papers on the first day.
Officials said that nominations papers are accepted on March 20, 21, 22, 25 and 26.
Earlier in the day, District Election Officer and Collector C. Kathiravan along with Superintendent of Police S. Sakthi Ganesan inspected the security arrangements at the Collectorate. Police personnel were asked not to allow private vehicles on the premises while the police were asked to ensure that candidates stop their vehicles 100 metres away from the office.
Expenditure Observer G.K. Pradhan inspected the media certification and monitoring committee on the Collectorate premises.
