Guard found killed in Patiala

PATIALA: Police here have booked some unidentified persons under sections of murder and other sections of the Indian Penal Code as a 70-year-old man was found dead in the city.
The police revealed that the deceased identified as Om Prakash was working as a security guard and was murdered by unidentified persons in wee hours on Monday.
The police said Om Prakash worked was a security guard at cremation ground in Ghalori gate for past 14 years but on Monday morning he was found lying in a pool of blood.
The police added that the matter came to light after some residents who went for a morning walk had visited the park adjacent to the cremation ground and found Om Prakash's dead body lying in pool of blood.
The station house officer (SHO) said they immediately called the family members of the deceased for identification and the body was handed over to the family after the post mortem was conducted. The police have registered a case of murder under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
The police said in the prime investigation it has been suspected that the deceased was attacked with sharp-edged weapons. The police added that CCTV installed near the crime spot is being looked into. The police added that some evidences have been collected from the spot and the accused would be nabbed soon.
