Two men were booked for allegedly assaulting a security guard, who had stopped them for enquiry before entering a high-rise building in Greater Noida on Monday, the police said.
Sonu and Monu had arrived in a car at Eros Sampoornam society in Greater Noida west on Sunday evening to visit their relative, who lives there, they said.
“A private agency’s security guard, Bhikari Singh, had stopped them at the entrance for enquiry. This agitated the visitors, who intimidated the guard,” an officer said. After an hour, the duo left the building. “Later, they called three to four persons, who reached the spot on motorcycles and started thrashing the guard,” he said.
Hit with iron chair
One of the miscreants hit Singh with an iron chair, leaving him bleeding profusely and then all of them fled the spot, the police said.
Singh was rushed to a nearby hospital by his colleagues.
On Monday, the victim approached police and an FIR was registered at the Bisrakh police station under Indian Penal Code Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Bisrakh SHO Manoj Kumar Pathak said the police are on the lookout for the accused.
“An FIR has been registered and searches are under way. Even the relatives whom the accused had come to meet have absconded,” Mr. Pathak said.
The private security agency said Singh had not violated any guideline.
“He was only following the mandatory checks and normal security procedures,” an officer added.
