Mountune Takes Ford Fiesta ST To 222 HP, Drops 0-62 To Under Six Seconds

Ford tuning specialists Mountune have released the “m225” package for the current Fiesta ST, targeting those who want even more grunt from their compact hot hatch.

Along with the new upgrade package, Mountune is also launching their also new mTune SmartFlash mobile app, enabling users to install and update the software on their vehicle through their smartphone.

The new m225 pack increases the Fiesta ST’s peak power to 225PS (222hp), up from the standard 200PS (197hp) of the turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-pot. More importantly, the new software allows the engine to deliver more torque both earlier and across the rev range, something that according to the tuner transforms the driving experience.

Mountune reckons the Ford Fiesta ST fitted with their m225 upgrade package is now capable of running the 0-62mph in less than six seconds, down from the factory 6.5 seconds, and cut a full second from the in-gear 31-62mph (50-100km/h) acceleration figure.

The company’s new mTune SmartFlash app is combined with the provided Bluetooth OBD interface. The selection between different setups is simple and fast, while the new mobile app also enables customers to update their vehicles with the latest calibrations straight from Mountune.

“With m225 and our innovative new SMARTflash system, owners can safely increase the performance of the Fiesta ST with unprecedented ease,” said David Moore, Director of Mountune Performance. “With that almost instantaneous delivery of torque the ST really comes alive, but you also have peace of mind in knowing that this is an engineered upgrade. As with all mountune packages, the m225 has undergone extensive performance and durability testing with all safety parameters retained. This is not just the best upgrade for the Fiesta ST, it is also the most robust.”

The new Mountune m225 package comes with three calibrations: the “m225 Performance” produces the full 225PS together with a more aggressive launch control strategy in the Sport/Track driving modes. The other two are Stock Performance and Anti-Theft, with the latter fully immobilizing the vehicle. The package also includes a high-flow induction kit, a Bluetooth adapter for the OBD port and the mTune SmartFlash app for both Android and Apple devices.
