Fire in rubber factory at Jajmau

Kanpur: A major fire broke out in a rubber factory in Jajmau area of Chakeri on Tuesday.
Three fire tenders were rushed to the site. It took an hour for Fire department personnel to douse the flames. The efforts to control the flames completely are still on.
No casualty has been reported in the incident.
The fire broke out in the factory situated in Hindustan Compound belonging to one Zaheer Ahmad, a resident of Gwaltoli area of the city. As soon as the fire broke out, labourers and other staff evacuated the factory premises. No one was injured in the incident, However, many loclas complained of breathlessness diue to smoke in the area. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
“We are yet to establish the exact cause behind the fire, however, electric short circuit is suspected to be the cause of fire,” CO, Cantt Ravi Kumar said and added that, “When we reached the site, a few employees were present outside the factory.”
“There are no reports about anyone getting injured by fire so far. Fire fighters are still battling to control the blaze from spreading further. Investigations so far have revealed that the rubber sheet factory was owned by Zaheer Ahmad, a resident of Gwaltoli,” CO said further.
