Icon of Icons prize for most iconic car ever among trophies to be handed out during 14 May ceremony
19 March 2019

This year's Autocar Awards will celebrate the best in the automotive industry on 14 May at Silverstone.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates the very best new and used cars, and pay tribute to the engineers, designers and innovators blazing a trail in the car industry.

Autocar is calling on readers to vote for their Icon of Icons ahead of this year’s Awards. Readers can vote from a list of 17 icons here, and the winner will be crowned this year's Readers’ Champion Award.

Our writers have picked the 17 most important, influential, desirable car names on the planet. The entry criteria is that they’ve had their name from birth and the car’s still in production. The vote closes at 11.59pm UK time on 31 March.

The Readers’ Champion is just one of the many honours that will be handed out at Silverstone’s Wing Complex during the Autocar Awards ceremony.

Other accolades include the Issigonis Trophy, presented to the individual who has contributed the most to the health, excellence and competitiveness of the European motor industry, and the Sturmey Award, named after Autocar’s founding editor, Henry Sturmey, which salutes innovation and achievement in the motor industry.
