PICS: Proteas hit the beach with Waves for Change

2019-03-19 11:58

Cape Town - Several Proteas stars in partnership with Laureus South Africa participated in the Waves for Change holiday programme at Muizenberg beach on Monday.

The Proteas, who completed a 5-0 series whitewash against Sri Lanka, took some time out of their day to meet and play some sport on the beach with the local kids.

Former Proteas all-rounder Shaun Pollock and former Springbok captain Morne du Plessis were among the Laureus ambassadors present in Cape Town.

Waves for Change is centred around voluntary weekend surfing sessions founded by Tim Conibear and local community members Apish Tshetsha and Bongani Ndlovu.

The Waves for Change is an award winning Surf Therapy programme that teaches the youth from various areas such as Khayelitsha, Masiphumelele and  Lavender Hill.

For more information, you can visit the Waves for Change website, or follow them on their Facebook page.
