With four global premieres and one European premiere at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show, Tata Motors was definitely one of the showstoppers at the event. After all, Tata Motors has been a regular at the Geneva Motor Show for over a decade now and they have used this platform to showcase their very best.

What Tata Motors had to say about their future products

Mr. Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD Tata Motors Ltd., said – “It’s a proud and humble moment for us today, as we stand here not only showcasing to all what we have in store in the coming year, but also being able to honour the commitments we made last year at this very time. We are excited to showcase to you the derivatives of our new future protected architectures – the ALTROZ, the ALTROZ EV, the BUZZARD* – Geneva Edition , the BUZZARD SPORT – Geneva Edition and the show stopper of the event, the H2X Concept. All these global products are based on the two new architecture strategy. We are confident that they will be game changers in their own spheres and will successfully reiterate our commitment to offer aspirational products with world-class design and technology.”

The cars to look out for from Tata Motors

This year, the company revealed their line-up of next generation passenger vehicles that included the Altroz premium hatchback in an electric avatar as well, a new small SUV concept called the H2X and the seven seater version of the Harrier that has been christened as the Buzzard. Amongst these, it was the Altroz and H2X that got the maximum number of eyeballs and rightly so!

Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz is set to make its Indian debut by mid-2019 and is based on Tata’s Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture. The premium hatchback boasts of a futuristic design that is modular and light and is touted to come with class leading features in terms of space, performance and on-board technology. The Altroz will go up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno which currently dominates this segment in India. Incidentally, Tata Motors also showcased an EV version of the Altroz at the Geneva Motor Show which points towards their advanced capabilities and sustainable models for the future.

Tata H2X Concept

Set to make inroads in the compact SUV segment in the near future with the production version of the H2X, Tata Motors sure has their gameplan sorted! This sub-compact SUV concept is also based on the ALFA architecture that the Altroz is built on, however it carries a macho SUV style that is dynamic and rather expressive. It has been designed to offer a spacious cabin and is touted to be powered by efficient yet performance oriented engine options.

Tata Buzzard and Buzzard Sport

The Buzzard Sport is essentially the Tata Harrier that made its Indian debut in January this year and at the time, Tata Motors did reveal their plans for a 7-seater version as well. This model will be known as the Buzzard (In India this product will get a different name) and like the Harrier, it too is based on the OMEGA Architecture that essentially utilizes the D8 platform that underpins the Land Rover Discovery Sport. It is a stylish people carrier and will be offered with a 2.0 litre diesel engine that boasts of a higher tune than the one under the hood in the Harrier. It is expected to make its Indian debut later this year.
