As part of the security exercise ahead of polling, the Tirupati urban police seized an unaccounted cash of ₹2.48 lakh at various check-posts in Tirupati on Tuesday.
The Alipiri police seized ₹1.88 lakh in cash without proper receipt during a search operation on Renigunta road, while the flying squad of Chandragiri police seized ₹59,760 at Thondavada.
Superintendent of Police K.K.N. Anburajan appealed to the public not to carry cash above ₹50000 without proper documentary support.
