The Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case took a new turn on Monday with the Kadapa police naming his friend Parameswara Reddy as an suspect, on finding him admitted in a private hospital in Tirupati.
Amid talk of his going ‘underground’ after Viveka’s murder, Mr. Parameswara Reddy told the media that he had moved out of Pulivendula a day before the murder was reported.
Mr. Parameswara Reddy said he had been hospitalised owing to a heart problem and was not even in a position to move out of bed, and accused the Y.S. family of trying to frame him in the case.
Mr. Parameswara Reddy insisted that he had no role in the murder and expressed suspicion over a family insider’s hand in it. His wife alleged that the Y.S. family had launched a witch-hunt against them.
SIT questions Avinash
Meanwhile, former MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy was sumquestioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at Pulivendula. Along with Mr. Avinash Reddy, his close relative Devireddy Sivasankar Reddy was also interrogated by the SIT. Mr. Sivasankar Reddy was allegedly summoned previously. The development assumed significance as it was Mr. Avinash from whom the police had received the first phone call stating that Vivekananda Reddy had died of heart attack .
