Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Bhopal IG Jaideep Prasad and his wife Bharti Prasad have won the title of Spring-term golf competition played in BHEL Golf Club. Pair of Sakshi Lokesh Lilahare remains on second place and Harmeet-Raminder Singh got third place. After winning the title, IG Prasad said that today I have won this championship because of my wife.
In this victory my contribution is just of 30 percent and my wife has contributed 70 percent whereas IG Prasad’s wife Bharti Prasad said the title that for the first time I have played any golf tournament and won the trophy.
In this unique golf competition pair of husbands and wives took part. In this, about 30 teams have taken part and the game was played in two parts. Initially the husbands started the game by striking the ball to Green, and then wives finished the game by putting the ball into the hole. The putting competition was also organized for women golfers, in which Seema Dixit won the trophy.
Shobha Bundela in second place and MP Srivastava stayed at third place. Dixit, who won the trophy in the putting competition, said that I have played golf after one year and performed very well and because of this competition, I got a chance to improve my game.
Women’s golf players very actively and enthusiastically took part in this golf competition. The purpose of this competition was to promote the interest of golf in women and to develop inclination towards golf. Women got closer to the game of golf in this competition and enjoyed the game.
How to play golf
There is a starting point in Golf and after hitting the ball from the start point you have to carry the ball through green to hole. Green is the place where the hole exists. The place from where the ball hits is called Tee-off and where the ball falls it is called a fair-way. There are 18 holes in a standard golf course and the player who delivers the ball to with lowest strokes from the starting point to the hole will be the winner.
I keep coming to practice in the golf club but this is my first tournament and I played well. Everyone plays very well here and it’s great to play with them.
