2 teachers held for corporal punishment

Pune: A 17-year-old student of class 11 of a junior college in Dapodi, was allegedly assaulted by two teachers for not studying properly. The beating was so severe that the student started bleeding from nose and ears.

An FIR has been registered with Bhosari police station against two teachers Ujagare and Jawale. 

According to the police, the incident took place on Friday. Ujagare called the student out of the class and told him that he would be giving zero marks in his subject for not studying properly. In the meantime, Jawale hit the boy which led to injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was given first aid and discharged.

The accused persons have been booked for offences under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and under section 75 (punishment for cruelty to child) of the Juvenil Justice Act.
