Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address an election rally at Itanagar on March 19, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections. Gandhi will address the rally at Itanagar's Indira Gandhi Park. Congress will announce the candidate names for the upcoming state polls before Rahul Gandhi’s arrival. Elections for the two Lok Sabha seats and the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh Assembly will be held on April 11. A large number of legislators have left the Congress party since it won 42 seats back in 2014. The party as of now has only five MLAs in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly.
