Cape Town - Wales rugby captain Alun Wyn Jones melted hearts on social media on Saturday by giving his tracksuit top to the young child who had led the team out ahead of their Six Nations clash against Ireland in Cardiff.

With the roof at the Principality Stadium open, rain was falling down, and conditions were terrible.

The young mascot, named Joey Hobbs, took to the field in his shorts and Wales match shirt, completely exposed to the difficult conditions.

In a moment that few would have seen, given that Wales were about to play the biggest match of their year so far, Jones noticed the young boy shivering and removed his tracksuit top to give to the child while the national anthems were played.

The rugby gods must have noticed, too, because Wales went on to beat Ireland 25-7 to win the Six Nations as well as the Grand Slam.
