Woman molested in Unnao rly stn toilet

Kanpur: In a sensational incident, a woman was allegedly molested and beaten up by an unidentified man inside toilet of women waiting room at Unnao railway station on Monday evening. The Government Railway Police (GRP) are investigating the matter.
Talking to mediapersons the woman alleged that an unidentified man, after locking her inside the toilet of the waiting room, had tried to outrage her modesty. When she resisted, he thrashed her brutally and also bit her, causing grevious injuries, she further alleged.
“The man banged my head against the wall and tried to strangulate me. Despite my repeated requests, he did not let me go and kept on assaulting me and forcing himself on me”, she said. and added that she somehow managed to reach the GRP station located on the same platform.
Police said that they were yet to receive a complaint from the woman after which they would lodge an FIR in this case. Talking to TOI, Inspector, GRP, Unnao Railway station, Santosh Kumar said, “We immediately took the woman for medical examination and got her treated for the injuries. We are yet to receive a complaint from her to lodge an FIR. Her mother and brother have reached here. We are investigating the matter.”
He said the woman was beaten up brutally. She is a resident of Lucknow and works with an NGO in Unnao, he added.
