SALEM: The Salem city police on Monday arrested a man who was involved in three robbery cases and a burglary case here seven years ago.
The accused has been identified as Sadik Basha, 32, of Kitchipalayam in the city.

Sadik Basha had been absconding for years, a police officer said. “He appeared for a few times before a judicial magistrate. He went absconding after that,” a police officer said. The JM issued an arrest warrant against him.

The Kitchipalayam police got a tip off that Sadik Basha, wife and his two sons were frequently visiting their relative’s home in Kitchipalayam.

The police followed Basha’s wife on Sunday evening. Tailing her, the police nabbed him from his home in Yelur village in Namakkal district.

They brought the accused back to Kitchipalayam on Monday morning. He was remanded in judicial custody.
