Share market update: BSE Power index up; Suzlon Energy jumps over 4%

The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.27 per cent up at 1987 around 12:11 pm.

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Power index was up with most of its components trading on a mixed note in Monday's afternoon session.

Shares of Suzlon Energy (up 4.26 per cent), Reliance Infrastructure (up 3.47 per cent), KEC International (up 1.79 per cent) and JSW Energy (up 1.19 per cent) were trading with gains.

Adani Transmission (down 5.31 per cent), Adani Power (down 1.78 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 1.26 per cent) and Tata Power Company (down 0.88 per cent) were trading lower.

The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.27 per cent up at 1987 around 12:11 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 3.10 points at 11,423.75 while the BSE Sensex was down 29.84 points at 37,994.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Bharti Infratel, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Communications, Reliance Power, Reliance Capital, PNB, Ashok Leyland, DHFL, South Indian Bank, NBCC, IDBI Bank, Indian Oil Corp, Bombay Dyeing, JP Associates, YES Bank and Reliance Infra were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
