Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar breathe his last on Sunday evening at the age of 63. He was suffering from a pancreatic ailment and has been in and out of hospitals since February 2018. Politicians, sports personalities, movie celebrities around the nation have been expressing their grief on Twitter. President of India, Ram Nath Kovind offered his condolences by tweeting, "Extremely sorry to hear of the passing of Shri Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, after an illness borne with fortitude and dignity. An epitome of integrity and dedication in public life, his service  to the people of Goa and of India will not be forgotten."

Several film personalities took to Twitter and offered their condolences. Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "Manohar Parrikar CM of Goa, passes away .. a gentle , soft spoken simple minded person .. respected .. fought his illness with dignity and great spirit .. had on a few occasions spent some time with him .. a soft smile always adorned his face .. sad with the news .."
