Indore: Difficult to stop a running elephant, major General Bakshi warns Pakistan

Indore: Expressing his outburst against Pakistan for promoting terrorism in India, Major General (retd) GD Bakshi here on Monday said India has made it a practice of giving a befitting reply to terror strikes on its soil. “It takes time for an elephant to get up but when he does so and and starts running amok it becomes all the more difficult to stop him,” he said while addressing a programme “Nation First” organised by Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti at Basketball complex.

Bakshi stated that India has lost its patience with Pakistan and started replying in the language it understands. “It’s not only about Pulwama, where 45 soldiers were killed in terror attack, but about 80,000 innocent lives were lost due to terrorism so far. 20,000 lives were lost during Punjab insurgency, 45000 in Jammu and Kashmir, 750 in Mumbai terror attacks and 15,000 in different terror strikes in other cities,” he said.

“Pakistan policy is to bleed India with thousand cuts. India changed since 2016. It’s a new India which knows who to reply,” Bakshi stated. “We called Pakistan bluff by carrying out surgical strike in 2016 to avenge Uri terror attack. After conducting the strike, we told Pakistan that we did what we wanted and will repeat if any terror activities happened again,” Bakshi said.

He stated that “pigeon flyer brigade” and “candle brigade” in New Delhi and started talking about peace with Pakistan, the neighbour state thought it can bleed India again unaware that this time it will have to face a major air strike. “Taught well, Pakistan will never forget the Balakot lesson now,” Bakshi said.
