Workshop related women’s counselling held by rural police
Soumitra Bose | tnn | Mar 19, 2019, 04:02 ISTNagpur: Nagpur rural police, with the help of judicial officials from family court, organized a workshop on counselling women in distress at their CCTNS hall at the office of the superintendent of police in Civil Lines, recently. The woman cops were imparted training in developing skill to counsel and help women in distress.
The cops from district family counselling centre and distress cell at SP office and also different police stations had participated in the daylong workshop where they were guided regarding the various techniques of counselling and legal aspects. The cops were also made aware of the laws protecting rights and interest of the women in distress and family disputes.
Senior counsellor from the family court Sangeeta Pandey was the keynote speaker who had enlightened the women cops regarding the legal issues of the women in distress and also various provisions under which protection can be extended to them.
Senior family court counsels like Suhas Thaokar and Aparna Dalvi too created awareness among the woman cops about the functioning of the legal wing of the judiciary dealing in family disputes and grievances.
Sub-inspector Mrunalini Wanjari, in-charge of district women’s grievance redressal cell also spoke on the occasion sharing her experiences and knowledge with the participants at the workshop which was organized under the guidance of SP Rakesh Ola and additional SP Monica Raut.
