Five YSRCP activists were arrested on Sunday in the case relating to TDP MLA candidate Thikka Reddy getting shot in the leg in Mantralayam on Saturday. The two gunmen of Mr. Reddy were suspended on Saturday night for prematurely firing into the air.
“There was no need to fire,” SP Fakeerappa Kaginelli told The Hindu. They should have shown restraint, he said. On the security front, he said two CIs, 3 SIs and 15 constables had been deployed at Khaggal. Normality returned and the campaigning was on, he said.
