Letter to the Editor: Great examples of harmony and respect at Taunton High School

Look at the news on the terrorist killings in a New Zealand mosque and know, double know, that what The Foreign Language Department is doing at Taunton High School, not only honoring cultural diversity in Taunton, but also having real fun in honoring diversity, is so important to our whole community.

I am so grateful to Ashley Pacheco Guillmette, her teachers, and the students for their creative work during Foreign Language Week and for inviting the community in to enjoy their "Passport to Cultures" celebration. It was so warm and welcoming and so much fun.

This celebration and other events during Foreign Language Week promoted harmony, understanding and fun between cultural, ethnic and racial groups at the high school and in our community at a time when our nation and our world needs that kind of harmony and mutual respect.
