With 16 Lok Sabha seats, can TRS claim PM post?: Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress working president A Revanth Reddy will meet the CPI leaders on Sunday to seek their support for his victory from the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency.

Wasting no time after his name was announced from Malkajgiri by the AICC on Friday night, Revanth launched his campaign by meeting Medchal-Malkjagiri district TPCC president Kuna Srisailam Goud and party workers from Malkajgiri constituency on Saturday morning and sought their support.

He is also expected to meet the leaders of other like-minded parties and those opposed to TRS and BJP, seeking their support. “Work hard for the next 25 days and ensure my victory. I will take care of you for the next 25 years,” Revanth told Congress workers.

Speaking to mediapersons, Revanth shot a question: “Narendra Modi will be the Prime Minister if BJP is voted to power and Rahul Gandhi will be the PM if Congress is given the mandate. Who will be the PM if people vote for TRS, giving them16 seats?”

Stating that both KCR and KTR are trying to fool the people of Telangana by saying that they will dictate terms at the Centre, Revanth said the Congress is expected to win 120-160 seats and can do a lot more for Telangana when compared to only 16 seats being sought by TRS. While appealing to the people to reject a regional party like TRS, he said it was unfortunate that Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sudheer Reddy decided to join TRS. “Sabitha and Sudheer had assured me of their support and told me to enter electoral fray from Malkajgiri when I met them a few days back. Within days, they decided to leave Congress and join TRS,” he said.
