Representatives of Welfare Association for Kidney Patients have requested Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for monthly pension of up to ₹4,000 per month to patients who have to undergo dialysis.
On the sidelines of a World Kidney Day-2019 programme here on Saturday, founder-president of the association I. Mamatha said that around ₹10,000 is spent per month per patient on medicines, diagnosis tests and diet. “The expenditure is around ₹10,000 since the State government provides dialysis free of cost. If the government grants us survival pension, some of our medical expenses will be taken care of,” she said.
