Pune: Opener Atul Pawar stood his ground amidst crumbling top order and shared six partnerships as Siemens rode on his unbeaten 111 to beat Yardi by 56 runs on the seventh weekend of the FLAME University Corporate Cricket T20 League 2019 at the FLAME University Campus in Lavale on Saturday.

Siemens’ huge win propelled them to the No 2 position in Group B pushing Yardi to the third spot with one match remaining the group to finalise who makes it to the quarterfinals.

FLAME University is leading the group with 4 points, while Siemens too has 4 points but have played all its three league matches. FLAME has a match to go against Yardi, who have two points and will need a big win to overhaul Siemens’ NRR to qualify from the group.

Pawar began tentatively but stood his ground sharing small but crucial stands with five top order batsmen before sixth-wicket 81-run partnership with Manoj Bhagwat helped him to carry the bat.
In reply Yardi was stranded at 127 for 7 in 20 overs as Subhash Deore (2 for 16) and Manoj Bhagwat (2 for 16) struck vital blows.

In the first encounter of the day Tech Mahindra quartet of Vikas Bhakare (2 for 6, Swapnil Sawagawe (2 for 13, Himanshu Gandhi (2 for 3), Sacheen Kulkarni (2 for 9) struck early on to skittle out Capgemini for 84 before Tech Mahindra overhauled the target with three wickets in hand and 2.4 overs to spare.
