HYDERABAD: The Congress, on Saturday, demanded that the Governor dismiss the K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS government, which is “ruling the state in a feudal, unconstitutional and an undemocratic manner by purchasing Congress MLAs with the money earned out of corruption in Mission Bhagiratha and other irrigation projects”.

“If needed, President’s rule should be imposed in Telangana to save democracy,” Congress legislature party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said at a media conference. He condemned the defection of Congress MLAs into TRS being allegedly engineered by the KCR-led TRS and made it clear that that they would not stop questioning the state government on corruption in Bhagiratha and other projects, irrespective of the inducements made to their party MLAs.

Stating that the Congress would declare a “holy war” against the TRS government, he said they would meet Governor ESL Narasimhan on March 18.

“The Governor should take action against defection of Congress MLAs, or else he would be remembered as a controversial Governor in history,” he said.

“I will launch a state-wide campaign to expose TRS buying out Congress MLAs. We will also take up a signature campaign of all leaders of all political parties in the country on TRS engineering defections,” he said, and added that they would meet the President of India and lodge complain against the TRS. The state-wide campaign would be named as “protect democracy yatra.”

Vikramarka alleged that KCR and KTR were ruling like kings and demanded immediate suspension of Congress MLAs who joined TRS. “KCR is trying to wipe out the opposition,” he added.
