Peter Mukerjea, one of the accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, will undergo an angiography at Sir JJ Hospital on Monday. Mukerjea was rushed to the hospital on Saturday evening after he complained of chest pain.

Doctors from the hospital said Mukerjea was experiencing chest pain for the past two-three days.

He underwent a battery of tests, including electrocardiogram (ECG), 2-D Echo and blood investigations to diagnose the cause of his chest pain.

“We are awaiting results of some tests, but his condition is stable now. We have decided to perform an angiography on Monday, as it can diagnose the cause of his discomfort. We will decide the course of medication based on the reports,” said Dr Sanjay Surase, medical superintendent of Sir JJ Hospital.

Angiography highlights blocked or malformed arteries or veins of heart, which may affect the heart function.

Mukerjea is lodged in the Arthur Road jail for his role in the murder of Sheena Bora in 2012. Mukerjea was arrested in November 2015.
