GOAL! Everton 2-0 Chelsea

Sigurdsson’s low drive is saved but it kindly falls to him to convert into an empty and double Everton’s lead!

It’s exactly what the Blues deserve.

Gylfi to take

Gylfi Sigurdsson to take....

PENALTY!

Penalty to Everton as Richarlison is bundled over by Alonso.

Everton subs

Schneiderlin coming on

Gomes off, Schneiderlin on

Silva reacting to Chelsea’s introduction of Loftus-Cheek, it would seem.

Gomes is on a booking too

Barkley off

Huge cheer from the home fans as Ross Barkley’s afternoon comes to an end.

Higuain is the other player departing.

Chelsea subs

Olivier Giroud and Ruben Loftus-Cheek preparing to enter the fray for the visitors.

Rudiger booked

Rudiger booked for a stray arm/elbow into the face of Bernard.

Super save

Super save from Jordan Pickford to deny Gonzalo Higuain from the edge of the box.

The England international got down sharply to deny the Chelsea striker.

A different side

Calvert-Lewin should do better!

Lovely play between Bernard and Digne releases the full back down the left flank, his cross finds the striker but he wasn’t expecting it and the opportunity goes begging.

Everton are a completely different side this half.

Park End amusement

Alonso smashes a decent effort into the side-netting.

A few Chelsea fans thought that had gone in, much to the amusement of the Park End.

Alonso finds the (side) net

Marcos Alonso comes as close as any Chelsea player to finding the net.

In fact, he does, but it’s only the side of it with a drilled effort at the back post.

Some fans thought it was in.

'Roar of defiance'

Suddenly Goodison Park is fired up.

Pedro disposses Digne, but runs right into Gueye and the Everton fans respond with a roar of defiance.

Goodison is rocking

Everton really have Chelsea on the ropes here.

The Goodison crowd are well up for it now too.

What a difference the half-time whistle has made to this game.

Meanwhile Gueye thunders into a tackle to rob Pedro of the ball.

Fair to say the home side enjoyed that!

Goodison woken up!

Well, that has woken Goodison Park right up.

A lightning start to the half from Everton is rewarded with the first goal of the match.

See how easy it is sometimes?

GOAL! Everton 1-0 Chelsea (Richarlison)

Everton take the lead through Richarlison.

Calvert-Lewin’s header is followed up by Richarlison who poaches his 13th of the season!

Get in!

A half-time rocket!?

Suspect Silva may have delivered a half-time rollicking.

Much better from the Blues. Goodison responds.

THIS is more like it!

Now THIS is more like it!

Everton start the half quickly, the crowd respond in kind.

Better from the Blues

A great move from the Blues, particularly from Calvert-Lewin sees space open up for Gomes on the edge of the box.

His first-time shot with his left foot is palmed over by Kepa.

Better from the Blues who have started brightly this second half.

Early chance

And we’re underway for the second half at Goodison Park.

And almost immediately Everton have a chance as Calvert-Lewin swings in a low ball towards Bernard at the far post.

It’s just a bit too quick for the diminutive playmaker.

No changes

No changes at the break from Silva

Back out

The two teams are back out on the pitch at Goodison Park.

Slack passing

A key insight into the first-half problems at Goodison.

Ratings

Jordan Pickford - 6

He’s been kept busy in this first half, but has stood up to every test and kept the ball out of the net so far at least.

Seamus Coleman - 5

Has his work cut out with the likes of Eden Hazard and Ross Barkley clearly trying to target him, and is still struggling with his delivery in the final third.

Michael Keane - 6

The more composed of the two centre-backs, but his long balls haven’t been the most accurate so far.

Yerry Mina - 5

Looking a little bit rusty and erratic thus far, perhaps just needs to settle into this one.

Lucas Digne - 6

A quiet half for the Frenchman as most of the match has been played down the opposite flank.

Idrissa Gueye - 6

Chelsea have been on top, but that’s not down to a lack of effort from Gueye, who recovered from an early knock to put in another professional half.

Andre Gomes - 4

Not his usual self at all, giving the ball away far too readily in the middle of the park.

Gylfi Sigurdsson - 4

You’d be forgiven for forgetting he was even on the pitch for the majority of the half. Non-existent.

Bernard - 5

Hardly been given a touch of the ball thus far.

Richarlison - 5

Not getting back well enough to support Coleman, and the Blues are being overrun down that flank.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 7

Putting in copious amounts of effort in trying situations once more. An admirable display so far from the striker with little help, although he should have scored with a header towards the end of the half.

Half time: Everton 0-0 Chelsea

And that’s the end of a fairly tame first 45 minutes at Goodison Park.

Praise for DCL

Massive praise should be thrown at Calvert-Lewin here.

He’s got absolutely no help at all up front but he’s putting in an admirable performance, with a huge amount of effort.

All he needs is a goal.

Two mins added

There will be two minutes added on.

Pedro scores...but he's offside

Pedro rattles the ball past Pickford, but the Spaniard is flagged for offside.

A clear call.

Phew!

Massive cheers as Barkley hits a free kick straight into the wall, before Pedro takes on around four Everton players before dragging one wide.

Phew…
