25 injured in bull race in Tamil Nadu village

TIRUVANNAMALAI: As many as 25 people, including bull-tamers, spectators and a woman inspector, were injured during a bull race held at Kunnathur near Arani in Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
Though elaborate security measures had been taken, barricades collapsed due to the huge number of spectators.
Some panicked bulls started charging the crowd, injuring at least 25 people. The injured included inspector Arani Taluk police station inspector Bharathi.
The injured were admitted to Arani Government Hospital. Five of the injured were referred to Government Vellore Medical College and Hospital.
Organisers stopped the bull race halfway to avoid further untoward incidents.
