Ujjain: Following the speedy recovery of property tax, the civic body is providing more ease to tax payers. According to officials civic body offices of all zones will also remain open on Sundays till March 31. In this regard municipal Commissioner Pratibha Pal and deputy commissioner Sunil Shah along with concerned officials interacted with tax payers in many areas across the city to inspire them to pay their due tax. Over Rs 12 lakh has been collected from tax payers on Saturday.
Pal also visited zonal offices and took the stock of cleanliness of the areas. Officials slapped penalties on litterbugs and over Rs 273,050 were collected by the civic body on Saturday, they also seized banned polythene bags and rotten fruits.
Speeding up water tax collection
Additional commissioner Manoj Pathak convened a meeting of concerned officials to speedup collection of water tax. He instructed the officials to issue notices to the tax payer having more than Rs 50,000 due in tax amount. The meeting was attended by assistant engineer Atul Tiwari, sub engineer Dilip Noughane and other concerned officials.
