Christchurch shooting LIVE: Death toll from mosque attacks rises to 50

Police 'do not believe' three other people arrested were involved in the attack

New Zealand Police Commissioner Mike Bush has just fronted a press conference on the latest on the Christchurch terror attack.

He has confirmed the death toll has risen to 50 (see post below), and his other comments suggest 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant acted alone in the attack.

Commissioner Bush said police "do not believe" three people who were apprehended on Friday were involved in the attack.

He said two people, man and a woman, were apprehended at a court, and that while the woman would be released without charge the man would face charges firearm offences.

He said a third man, an 18-year-old, would appear in court on Monday. "That arrest was tangential. We do not believe he was involved either," Commissioner Bush said.
